ABSTRACT
Este ensaio objetiva discorrer sobre a temática do suicídio. Especificamente, pretende-se caracterizar estimativas epidemiológicas e fatores associados, como psicopatologias e comorbidades. Além disso, são propostos elementos importantes a se investigar diante do paciente que apresenta risco ao suicídio e, por fim, apresentar uma caracterização do "contrato antissuicídio". Este fenômeno é responsável, anualmente, por cerca de um milhão de óbitos. A respeito das estimativas, cabe ressaltar que estas não incluem as tentativas de suicídio. Fatores socioculturais e econômicos associam-se a essa problemática, bem como elevada frequência de sofrimento psíquico e de uso abusivo de substância psicoativa. O profissional de saúde precisa estar ciente de que a ação diante do suicídio é necessariamente multidisciplinar, de modo que esses profissionais devem estar capacitados para lidar com a problemática. O profissional de saúde tem o papel primordial de cuidar, logo, faz-se necessário a implicação e corresponsabilização de todos que compõe o serviço, seja na atenção primária a terciária, no acompanhamento do paciente com tal demanda.(AU)
This essay aims to discuss the issue of suicide. Specifically, it is intended to characterize epidemiological estimates and associated factors, such as psychopathology and comorbidities. In addition, important elements are proposed to be investigated in relation to the patient who presents a suicide risk and, finally, to present a characterization of the "antisuicide contract". This phenomenon is responsible annually for about one million deaths. Regarding the estimates, it should be noted that these do not include suicide attempts, which exceed the number of suicides by at least ten times. Sociocultural and economic factors are associated with this problem, such as unemployment, financial loss, job dissatisfaction and stress, as well as high frequency of psychic suffering and abusive use of psychoactive substance. Every health professional must be aware that the action before the suicide is necessarily multidisciplinary, so that these professionals must be able to deal with the problem, be it in the investigation of the phenomenon, or in the interventions in the face of the finding of risk and attempt Of suicide. The health professional has the primary role of caring, therefore, it is necessary to involve and co-responsibility of all that compose the service, whether in primary care or tertiary care, in the follow-up of the patient with such demand.(AU)
